You can't deny, you had no idea who Kim Kardashian was until her reported sex tape scandal. Sure, she'd been spotted out a few times with socialite and paparazzi magnet Paris Hilton, but that's about it.
Enter the sex tape with then-boyfriend, rapper Ray J, and this Kardashian was propelled into stardom. The tape, supposedly leaked, was picked up by Vivid Entertainment. Kardashian initially pursued legal action for the ownership of the tape, but eventually dropped the suit and settled with the entertainment company for five million dollars.
Because honestly, in the end, isn't money all that matters? No, but really, the tape would've been leaked anyways, it was too late to hide it, you might as well take the high road and make money off of it. Besides, no one would know who Kim Kardashian is if not for this tape.
